I’m Hailey.

This blog is a little slice of the internet that I created to share my everyday life. From baking to crafting, hunting for antiques on the weekends and cultivating my home style, I’m excited to share the daily in and outs of being a 30-something wife, dog mom and small business owner.

Throughout my 20’s, my home style was constantly changing—from a love of everything 1950’s  to shabby chic to mid-century modern, I couldn’t really settle on one style and was busy chasing Pinterest trends. It took time and experimentation to realize that loving something didn’t always mean it should have a place in my home.  Now, in my early 30’s, I’ve finally begun to settle into a style that feels more like ‘me’ and less like a Pinterest trend. Investing in quality antiques and embracing ‘slow decorating’ have been center in this transformation. Now my home is filling gradually with collections I truly treasure and furniture that will be a part of my life for a lifetime.

McCoy pottery, vintage floral artwork and vintage planters are some of my favorite things to collect. My home is filled with secondhand finds—furniture, linens, clothing, decor and kitchenware—at least half of what I own was found at a thrift store.

You’ll mainly find posts related to home style here on the blog, but I also love to cook and bake using whole foods and a from-scratch philosophy. From pie crusts to mayonnaise, I chose to make delicious food with simple ingredients, all in my own kitchen. Trying new recipes and techniques has always been a fun way to challenge myself and become a better cook and baker along the way.

During the holidays, you can expect a bit of gingerbread mania and lots of fun crafty projects here on the blog. I’m a really big Martha Stewart fan and I find so much inspiration in her old craft, holiday and cooking books.

In 2020, my husband’s job in the U.S. Army relocated us to Roanoke, Virginia, where we currently live with our two long-haired miniature dachshunds—Darcy and Bingley. They’re equal parts adorable and mischievous.

In addition to running this hobby blog, I’ve recently launched a boutique wedding rental company in Virginia’s valley region—New River Valley Vintage. If you’re looking for beautiful and unique vintage rentals for a wedding or event in Virginia, be sure to check it out.
